Ilford Ilfotec DD Starter is required when mixing fresh tank solution of Ilfotec DD. Added to Ilfotec DD replenisher solution at a ratio of 1:250.

A starter for machine developer solutions used in processing labs. Used in conjunction with ILFOTEC DD.

The addition of ILFOTEC DD STARTER turns the working strength ILFOTEC DD replenisher into a machine tank developer.

In a replenished developer system, ILFOTEC DD STARTER reduces the activity of the fresh developer to simulate a "seasoned" developer, i.e. one where the by-products of development are present in a stable equilibrium. Therefore, preventing a reduction in speed and contrast as the fresh developer becomes "seasoned".
